On Thursday, October 22, Ethan Klein announced that the show was going on an indefinite hiatus. The announcement came less than 12 hours before his wife Hila posted her own statement.
On Friday, Hila shared a message on Instagram. She wrote that she was living a nightmare she couldn’t wake up from, and that her husband had been having an affair. She said she had been given “lie after lie” for months. She described the story changing over time, from “just a kiss” to “emotional cheating.” She says Ethan finally admitted to an affair of more than six months, though she believes she still doesn’t know the full extent. Hours later, the show’s production team posted its own message. The crew said it unanimously agreed to stop working with Ethan. It said everyone was “shocked, angry, and heartbroken” and that it stands with Hila. The crew also said it would not continue with Ethan involved or profiting in any way. It added that its members are safe and looking after one another.
