Dolce & Gabbana Taormina 2026 shows turned Sicily’s postcard town into fashion’s most talked about set for five straight days this July. The brand brought its Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria and Alta Gioielleria shows back to the exact spot where the whole Alta Moda story began in 2012, and this time close to five hundred guests, dozens of journalists and a healthy chunk of football and Hollywood’s biggest names showed up to watch. By the time the last show wrapped at the ancient Teatro Antico on July 15, the internet had more content than it knew what to do with, from Erling Haaland’s frog shaped lapel pin to Jennifer Lopez staring at an ice cream cone like it had personally wronged her.
Why Dolce & Gabbana Returned To Taormina For 2026
The whole week ran under the hashtag DG Fatto A Mano, which basically means everything is handmade, and the venues did a lot of the talking on their own. Alta Gioielleria opened things up at the San Domenico Palace on July 12 with jewelry built around devotion, think Sacred Heart parures and tiny gold Madonnas sitting next to citrus branches made of gemstones. Two days later the Alta Moda womenswear show took over Radicepura Botanical Gardens in Giarre, where models walked through an actual floral forest in dresses that looked like they had grown there. This year’s Alta Sartoria menswear collection drew its inspiration from Cavalleria Rusticana, the classic opera by Pietro Mascagni, before everyone closed the week out with a beach party at Isola Bella.
Haaland Brings His World Cup Glow To The Front Row
Erling Haaland turned up looking like he wandered off a runway rather than a football pitch, which is impressive timing given he was fresh off Norway’s run at the 2026 World Cup. He wore an ivory silk twill double breasted suit, sunglasses, blue knitted leather loafers and, most memorably, a jeweled frog shaped brooch that reportedly retails for around 1,147 dollars. His girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen matched the mood in a crystal embroidered tulle gown with a plunging neckline and a crystal covered Sicily Bag. The couple, both originally from Bryne in Norway and parents to a young son, posed hand in hand for photographers before taking their seats next to teammate Sander Berge and his partner Julie Karlsen. Haaland later posted four photos from the night thanking Dolce & Gabbana for hosting them, and the post pulled in more than three million views within a day.

Jennifer Lopez Wins The Week, Twice
Jennifer Lopez did not just show up once, she showed up twice and made both moments count. For the Alta Moda show at Radicepura she wore a crystal covered sheath dress with a matching cape in ruby, emerald and sapphire tones, paired with a mini Sicily Bag, then changed into a lemon colored chiffon gown for the after party later that night. It was at that party where the internet actually fell for her, not because of the dress, but because of a ten second video of her waiting for an ice cream cone with the kind of wide eyed excitement usually reserved for lottery winners. Even Taormina’s mayor, Cateno De Luca, got in on the fun, posting a photo with Haaland where he joked that while everyone was busy introducing the city to its new star striker, the real goal scorer in town was him.

Stefano Gabbana Showed Up In His Pajamas, And Honestly, Respect
Then there was Stefano Gabbana himself, who decided the best way to attend his own multi million dollar spectacle was in light blue striped pajamas and flip flops. Videos of him strolling through the streets near the venue, smiling and waving at fans while everyone else wore couture worth more than most cars, went instantly viral. It was a small moment, but it said something real about a brand that spends the rest of the year selling extreme glamour, that even the man behind all that opulence knows when to relax. Fans online loved it, with plenty joking that Gabbana’s outfit was the most confident look of the entire week.

A spectacular Dolce & Gabbana event, star-studded from Haaland to Jennifer Lopez and Monica Bellucci

A Very Star Studded Guest List
Haaland and Lopez were far from the only names drawing cameras. Monica Bellucci, a longtime face of the brand, attended with her sixteen year old daughter Leonie Cassel, who opened the Alta Moda show in a black tulle gown covered in colorful three dimensional flowers, a genuine passing of the torch moment for the family. Christian Bale showed up with his wife Sibi in matching black looks, actor Theo James and his wife Ruth Kearney posed together at the Teatro Antico in coordinated black outfits, and Italian actor and singer Michele Morrone wore a burgundy double breasted blazer paired with rings from the brand’s high jewelry line. James was also spotted chatting with Haaland and Morrone between shows, a genuinely funny crossover of a British actor, a Norwegian striker and an Italian heartthrob all trading notes on tailoring.
#ChristianBale and #SibiBale, attending #DGAltaModa at Radicepura, wore, respectively, a black Martini suit in a wool-and-silk blend styled with a black poplin shirt, and a black plumetis lace dress featuring long sleeves, a square neckline and a structured corset bodice.… pic.twitter.com/5Fru1Eub2v

Why This Kind Of Chaos Actually Works
None of this happens by accident. Dolce & Gabbana has spent years figuring out that a runway show alone does not travel far online, but a footballer in a frog brooch or a movie star chasing an ice cream cone absolutely does. Athletes crossing over into high fashion is not new, but Haaland’s presence this week showed just how comfortably that crossover has settled in, especially for a player who was on a World Cup pitch only weeks earlier. At the same time, the candid clips, JLo’s ice cream face and Gabbana’s pajama stroll, arguably did more for the brand’s warmth than the collection itself, proving that in 2026, relatability travels just as far as luxury.
Vestiworld Take
What Taormina really proved this week is that spectacle alone does not hold attention anymore, moments do. Dolce & Gabbana built an entire town into a stage, flew in football royalty and Hollywood regulars, and still the two clips people will remember months from now are a striker’s frog pin and a pop star’s ice cream face. That is not an accident, it is the new playbook. Brands are not just selling clothes at these events anymore, they are selling small, human, shareable seconds wrapped inside a much bigger and much more expensive story. Taormina got that balance right, pajamas and all.
